If it's to your Mom that you owe the knowledge of the world and to this day remember shared walks in nature, the ideal choice should be socks in field flowers. This is our novelty, which shows the extraordinary beauty of Polish flowers. On the socks unmatched were poppies and cornflowers. The charming plants perfectly capture the beauty of the summer months. Or maybe your Mom infected you with a passion for sports, and at the memory of the first lessons on your lips momentarily appears a smile combined with nostalgia? If so, tennis socks, among others, are waiting for you. Children often frown upon home-cooked dinners, but as we get older we appreciate their unique taste and craftsmanship. Suddenly fast food is no longer attractive and it is Mom's creations that turn out to be the best in the world. If you want to express your appreciation for delicious dishes, a great gift for Mom would be socks with dumplings or socks with pickles.
Over the divide
In Poland, Mother's Day is celebrated annually on May 26, but did you know that in the US it is a movable holiday? Americans celebrate Mother's Day every second Sunday in May. The tradition dates back to 1914 and the resolution that Woodrow Wilson signed. The establishment of the official date is the result of the efforts of Ann Reeves Jarvis and her daughter Anna Jarvis. The elder of the women was an organizer of the Mother's Day Work Clubs, a social initiative established in the 1850s. The most important goal was to improve the living conditions of women and children in local communities. Special emphasis was placed on health and hygiene issues. Women were educated in the subject of infectious diseases, which were common at the time. They learned how to prevent them and how to increase the level of cleanliness in their homes. Importantly, the organization helped people regardless of political views. This was especially important during the Civil War, when women provided assistance to both Northern and Southern supporters. After the war ended, Ann Jarvis organized meetings to reconcile the feuding parties. Years later, daughter Ann took the initiative and helped establish an official Mother's Day.
