Cotton feet in storks

The recent frosts made us longingly look out for the first signs of spring. Before the weather began to spoil us with high temperatures and sunny weather, the arrival of spring days was heralded by storks. It is the arrival of these majestic birds that is the first harbinger of the blossoming of greenery. To celebrate the return of our winged friends, we put on our stork feet and set off for the first truly spring walk. This is the perfect opportunity to look out for more harbingers of spring. Maybe you'll see the first snowdrops and crocuses poking through from under the ground in the flowerbeds, or maybe the somewhat gloomy forest will suddenly surprise you with exuberant greenery? However, we are entering a season that not only delights with beauty, but also surprises with a large daily amplitude of temperatures. That's why in our collection you will find both feet in storks and long socks in storks. This way you will find the right pair for a sunny noon, but also for a cool evening. What is worth knowing about these unique birds? Their trademark is their red beak and long legs. The sturdy beak helps them to get food, which is especially frogs, fish, insects and small mammals. Storks usually hunt in meadows or wetlands and directly in the water.

A sign of good luck

In many cultures, storks symbolize good luck. Probably each of us at least once in our lives has heard a story about a stork bringing babies. This is because storks have been associated with fertility for centuries. When storks swirled a nest on the roof of a house, it was immediately said that the family living there would soon welcome an offspring into the world. The company of storks was also said to signify prosperity and peace of mind. Similar beliefs are popular not only in Poland, but also in our neighbors. In Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, storks also herald the birth of a child and good luck. Interestingly, the associations are so strong that in China, too, the long-legged bird is considered a symbol of fertility. Storks are migratory birds, so they are well known in Europe as well as Asia and Africa. They winter in warm regions, and their journey can be as long as 10,000 kilometers. Poland is one of the countries with the largest number of white stork individuals in the spring summer. What else is worth knowing about these unique birds? They are family creatures, and the offspring are cared for not only by the mother, but also by the father. Also both parents are responsible for building the nest.
