Nutcracker Socks

During the Christmas season, we go back to our childhood days in a special way. The return to the family home often triggers a wave of memories. The smell of tangerines, decorating gingerbread cakes together and conversations held until dawn - these are things you miss all year round. Childhood is inextricably linked with stories that awaken the young imagination. Sometimes all it takes is a small impulse for memories of the most beautiful fairy tales to pop into your head. This is exactly what happens when you look at the Nutcracker socks. Christmas Socks Not to Match refers to a story that was written as early as 1816. E.T.A. Hoffmann created a magical world where everything is possible and the most important value is the belief in miracles. The original fairy tale was written in German, but it is the French adaptation that has gained the most fame. Alexander Dumas (the father) himself was responsible for the translation, and he thought it was one of the most beautiful stories he had ever read. Since then, the tale has been adapted hundreds of times. Certainly one of the most spectacular is the ballet composed by Peter Tchaikovsky. In addition, the adventures of the Nutcracker and Clara can be followed, among others, in theaters, but also on the big and small screen. To help you feel the atmosphere of Christmas even better, we invite you to continue reading. The story of the Nutcracker can awaken beautiful memories or become a canvas for creating completely new ones.

A timeless story

Once upon a time there lived a family in a faraway town. The parents spent Christmas Eve with their three children and their godfather, who gave his godchildren many gifts. Among the gifts was a nutcracker, which immediately captured the heart of seven-year-old Klara and was placed in her care. From the beginning, the girl believed that the object had a certain magic in it. Unfortunately, everyone considered these stories to be the result of a child's imagination. Even when, as a result of incredible events, Clare lost consciousness, her parents considered it a consequence of her injury and fall. As she lay in bed recovering, her godfather visited her and told her a remarkable story. In a distant land there once lived a royal couple who had a beautiful daughter. Unfortunately, the court was inhabited not only by people, but also by mice. The king had enough of this and ordered traps to be set up. The queen of the palace mice, Mysibaba, didn't like it and as revenge she put a curse on the princess and turned her into an ugly creature with a shapeless face. The curse could only be broken by a young man who would split the Krakatuk nut from the girl and then take seven steps backwards without the slightest stumble. It was only after 15 years of searching that a suitable boy was found and the spell was begun to be broken. Everything was going smoothly until the last step, when Mysibaba fell under the young boy's feet, making it impossible for him to complete the task. The savior was turned into a nutcracker, and could only regain his former form after fulfilling two conditions. First, he had to defeat Mysibaba's seven-headed son, the Mouse King, in battle. The second condition seemed even more difficult, for the boy had to make a girl love him despite his ugliness. Meanwhile, the princess regained her former beauty, but chased away her savior, disgusted by his appearance. Listening to the godfather's story, Clare did not doubt for a moment that the events outlined were about her nutcracker. The girl handed him a toy weapon with which to defeat his opponent. The next day, the Nutcracker arrived at Clare's house with seven Mouse King crowns, signifying victory. The girl, extremely proud of her companion, confessed to him that she could not understand the behavior of the princess, who despised such a savior. Soon her godfather appeared at Clara's house with a boy, introduced as his nephew. When the children were left alone, the young man explained to the girl that he was the nutcracker, and that Clare had helped him to free himself from the power of the curse. They promised each other eternal love, and years later they moved in together in a magical land where everything is possible.
