On February 17, World Cat Day is celebrated primarily in Poland and Italy. The purpose of the holiday is to emphasize how important a role a cat plays in human life. It is also a time when even more is said about animals that have not been lucky in life and are still waiting for a home. Many shelters then organize special meetings at which feline charges are introduced. In addition, every year more and more cat cafes are established in Poland. These are places where you can drink coffee and hang out with cats. Specially decorated rooms provide a temporary home for feline residents who ended up there from shelters. In this way, clients spend time with the cats and get to know their character better. Thanks to this, many cats are put up for adoption, and their place is taken by other mutts who are waiting for a new home.

How to understand a cat?

Some people claim that they can perfectly interpret every sound made by their cat. As much as possible, this may be true. Cats are very intelligent creatures that signal their needs through their behavior and the sounds they make. A cat's meow is a way of intra-species communication, but at the same time it can transcend species boundaries. That's why many cat guardians are able to tell if their pet is hungry or wants to play. The frequency of a cat's meows has the same value as a baby's cry, which is why it is so difficult to resist a pet's requests. Purring, on the other hand, is most often associated with the satisfaction of the pet. In fact, this is mostly the case, but purring can also be a sign of pain. It is believed that in this way the pet relieves its ailments, and on top of that it signals to the human that it needs proximity and care. Hissing and snorting is an attempt to scare off an enemy. It is not uncommon to attribute these noises to the pet's aggression, but they can just as well be due to fear and a sense of danger. It is also worth remembering that every cat is different. There are small-talking mutts that spend most of their time in silence. There are also pets that seem to want to constantly discuss with their caretakers. Thanks to the fact that cats have a variety of dispositions, so many people find their best friends among the mutts.
