Nutcracker socks

Gingerbread socks and a fairy tale for a December evening

Nutcracker socks are one of the most festive models in our collection. The December mood is conquered by the colors alone - red, green and navy blue, and the whole is complemented by unique patterns. One of the Christmas socks is decorated with an image of a nutcracker, while the other features gingerbread men and wands. This is a pair that wins the hearts of both adults and children. Christmas is a time when it is easy to forget what is really important. In the pursuit of perfect decorations and exquisite dishes, we stop appreciating what a gift it is to have our loved ones with us. Even with many responsibilities, it's worth arranging at least one day of peace and quiet to spend with your family or friends. Maybe you will decorate gingerbread together or simply talk about life. A great way to spend time together is also to tell Christmas tales. Some stories are specific to a certain region, while others are known around the world. An evening, filled with stories, will make you feel the holiday atmosphere even better. One of the classic stories is The Nutcracker, which was first published in 1816. E.T.A. Hoffmann created a remarkable story that combines dreaminess with fantastic themes and a hint of reflection on the world of children and adults. The French adaptation, translated by Alexandre Dumas (his father), gained the greatest popularity. It became the canvas for the creation, by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, of the ballet The Nutcracker. December is the perfect time to remember this magical tale.

A Christmas Tale of the Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is set in a fairy-tale world, and the final interpretation as to whether the story has more to do with reality or a dream is up to the readers. The action begins on Christmas Eve at the home of a councilor and his family. One of the gifts the godfather bestows on the children is a wooden nutcracker. The toy ends up in the care of seven-year-old Clara. The night brings quite unusual events. Mice, led by the seven-headed Mouse King, appear at the toy display case. Their adversaries are the toys, which have come to life and are up against each other under the leadership of the Nutcracker. Unfortunately, he is soon left alone to face the enemies. Desperate, Clara beats the glass, then faints. When the girl wakes up, no one wants to believe her stories, considering them only dreamlike maybes. The convalescent girl is visited by her godfather, who begins to spin a tale concerning the past of the donated nutcracker. Once in the palace lived the beautiful princess Pirlipata, on whom a curse was cast. Mysibaba decided to take revenge for all the mice killed in the castle and condemned the princess to a terrible ugliness. In order for the girl to regain her former self, she must eat a Krakatuk nut, split by a young man who, after handing it to the princess, is supposed to take seven steps backward without stumbling. The search for the savior took as long as fifteen years. He turned out to be a young Droselmajer. He accomplished his task, but at the last step he was tripped up by the vicious Mysibaba. The princess regained her beauty, but the boy lost his and was transformed into a nutcracker. The girl despised such a husband. The boy learned that in order to regain his former form, he had to make a woman love him despite his ugliness. The second condition was to defeat Mysibaba's seven-headed son. When Clara heard the story, there was a certainty in her heart that the nutcracker was the enchanted boy. The girl gives him a weapon with which he is to defeat the Mouse King. This happens, and Clare gets seven crowns belonging to the loser in gratitude. The girl also states that she would not behave like the ungrateful princess, and would not judge a man by his appearance alone. Suddenly, a great commotion arises in the apartment, and Clara faints again. When her consciousness returns, she sees a boy in front of her, who is introduced to her as the godfather's nephew. However, when the children are left alone, it turns out to be the nutcracker, who, thanks to Klara, has regained his former form. Since then, these two have been united by an unusual friendship, which, years later, turned into love and led to marriage. The young couple settled in a magical land whose beauty can only be experienced by those who know how to truly see the world.
