Socks with Rudolph

Socks with reindeer are the quintessence of Christmas atmosphere. In our store you will find two models, both in December colors. On one model, the animals are assisting Santa Claus with his sled, while on the other one they are already at work and decorating the Christmas tree. Socks with reindeer are a great gift which refers to one of the most popular Christmas stories. Robert L. May wrote a story about a young reindeer in 1939. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer became one of the most famous Christmas figures, which soon made its way into other areas of art as well. Even today, new songs, films and animations are being made about him. Why did the little reindeer become so popular? The greatest credit for that goes to the well-described story and its extraordinary universality. Rudolf was born as the youngest reindeer. He stood out not only because of his small stature, but also because of his unique red nose that glowed in the dark. Rudolph's originality was not appreciated by his companions, which made the young reindeer the object of unpleasant jokes. One Christmas Eve, Santa wanted to go out into the world to give presents to children, but unfortunately the sky was covered in a thick fog. Nothing was helping, time was passing, and the Star was in question. It was then that Rudolf came into action. His shiny nose showed the way through the fog, so Santa could deliver the presents on time. From then on, Rudolph became the leader of the sled, and the rest of the reindeer understood that no one should be excluded because they are different, and that being special can be an extraordinary gift.

Magical reindeer

Today, reindeer are one of the most popular symbols of Christmas. According to the story, Santa's sled is pulled by nine animals. Among them were Comet, Fircyk, Cupid, Blitzkrieg, Dancer, Pygmy, Professor, Mischief and Rudolph. However, these beautiful creatures have amazing abilities not only in fairy tales. Real reindeer can also amaze. Have you ever heard that the color of reindeer eyes changes at Christmas? Although this sounds like a fantastic story, it is confirmed in the natural world. It is around Christmas that the eye color of the friendly mammals changes from golden to dark blue. This is related to the specific lighting characteristic of the Arctic area. December is a period of 24h twilight. This is when the reindeer are better served by blue eyes, which are much more sensitive to light than the golden version, which provides a clearer image. The change of eye color takes place twice a year. This is an unusual mechanism that makes it easier for reindeer to live in the Arctic.
